Trent Green was selected the AFC's Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Chiefs' 40-34 overtime win over the Packers Sunday. It's the third time that Green has won conference player of the week honors, the last coming after the Chiefs' 48-30 win over Miami last Sept. 29.
Green completed 27 of 45 passes for 400 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions
against the Packers. His biggest throw was a 51-yard game-winning touchdown
pass to Eddie Kennison in overtime.

Green has completed 111 of 182 passes for 1,356 yards with nine touchdowns and six interceptions and ranks sixth in the AFC with a quarterback rating of 86.7.
“He needed a breakthrough game just like last year against Miami,”
coach Dick Vermeil said. “He had a breakthrough game and then all of a
sudden things started going his way a little better.” NFL Tickets
GOOD LUCK?
Sunday's improbable comeback against the Packers and previous tight wins over
Denver and Baltimore have some experts wondering whether the Chiefs are lucky
or good. Vermeil isn't having any of it.
“There will be all this speculation that we won as a result of good fortune,
and good fortune will enhance the opportunity to win a lot of football games.
But when it happens three times in a row, maybe we're creating some of our own
good fortune,” Vermeil said. “I know this: Two weeks ago against
Denver those balls were laying all over the turf and they weren't bouncing into
our arms. The odds are, we're going to get 50 percent of them and we only got
one of them.” NFL Tickets
INJURY UPDATE
Defensive end R-Kal Truluck (ankle) will miss his second straight game. Linebacker
Kawika Mitchell (hamstring) will practice today for the first time in four weeks
and will be listed as “questionable to probable” according to Vermeil.
Cornerback Darrius Johnson (knee), who saw action on special teams Sunday, could
be out depending on an MRI.
